7″ Mahogany, Purpleheart, Birdseye Maple, low G – C#

Description:

The first ever tabla with double inlaid points, this large diameter drum has an amazing versatile range and is relatively light weight for its size.  The Mahogany shell features long banded figuring, and is inlaid with Purpleheart (Peltogyne) and a second inlay of Birdseye Maple (Acer saccharum).  The twin inlay produces an elegant teardrop shape that is fully visible between the tuning pegs of handmade Hickory (Carya tomentosa). This tabla is topped with a Calcutta style head with excellent sustain, and a range of low G to C#. Truly a one of a kind instrument with a stunning appearance.
